jewels and the return of paisley jacquard
It’s the middle of January, and I want to be chic, but I want to be cozy. I’m leaning into the classics like chunky sweaters and fresh bedding while welcoming some newness by way of skincare and shiny necklaces.

1
Talk about classics, I love everything that’s happening in this image. From the size of the tote to the crispness of the sheets, the pleats on the sconce shades, and the silhouette of the boot and glasses, all of this feels right.
Bedding
The start of the year is the perfect time for a bedding refresh. I have heard fab things about Land’s End bedding and am considering this sheet set, the pillowcases, and the duvet cover (all in ivory).
Tote
Literally just added a black size L boat and tote to cart. So classic and will work well with black accessories now and as we transition into spring.
Glasses
I’m still on a high from last week’s Oliver Peoples x The Row find, but I would be lying if I said I wasn’t also wanting to invest in these. These are timeless and elevate a casual look in the most understated yet very much making a statement kind of way.

Every second-hand app I have has a saved search for Manolos. The rich color, suede upper, little ruffle, and bow on these is perfection.
Manolos
Suede and streamlined with the simplest little bow, and under $100. They could use a little love, but nothing major, and worth it if you’re a size 8.5 or 9.
Interesting Heels
I’m very into the idea of an unexpected shoe. For example, these look simple, but when you look closer, the tiny peep toe and curved heel (look a bit like Tory Burch) add a little intrigue and would be so cute with jeans. Love the calf hair on these and the shape of these…I’m tempted. These feel like a modern take on a classic, and I’m also very into them.

The colors on this Bottega clutch are so gorgeous together. It appears to have sold here, and that price makes me envious of whoever bought it. I found this very similar tassel clutch at a designer thrift sale last fall, and every time I pick it up, it makes me happy.
Clutches
This is heirloom status, but I think what’s fun about these decadent little evening bags is that you can find really unique, cool ones like this or this at very affordable prices. There’s also this. I got my SIL this Doen x RMS collab set for Christmas, which is really great because you get the RMS products and the pouch absolutely doubles as a chic little bag that’s similar to that last Bottega one!

Could this combo be any better? I think a statement necklace littered with diamonds with a tee and sweater is the epitome of chill chicness.
Necklaces
It came as no surprise to learn that this gorgeous, uniquely nerds rope-reminiscent beauty was designed by none other than Jessica McCormack. While Jessica’s iconic designs can’t really be imitated, we can draw inspiration from them. Personally, I am a big fan of wearing costume jewelry that sparks joy, and if one of you doesn’t grab this cool necklace, I might. This is also so fun. When looking for quality pieces that look like fine jewelry at more approachable price points, there’s always Dorsey. I love the graduated stones on this necklace. Probably most comparable to the JM inspo is this, and this link necklace gives impact in a more everyday way.
White Tee
I’m always reaching for my perfect white tee, or this tee, which has a great thick collar.
Sweater
The cut on this sweater looks phenom. I love the chunkiness and the depth of the V on this one. This is 50% off, and while I haven’t heard of this brand until now, their IG bio says “We are Italy, we are energy. IN WOMEN WE TRUST🤍” which we love… Not a V-neck, but yum.

Yes, I’m still cabin obsessed, so this is really speaking to me, but what really did it for me in this is the pattern on the duvet cover.
Bedding
I love the look of an all-white bed, but nostalgia is slowly taking over my brain, and I am finding myself drawn to patterned bedding that we would have seen in the 90s or early 2000s. Probably the chicest and easiest to integrate is this Josh Young x Williams Sonoma Home Jardiniere collection. We have two Josh Young pieces of art, and I think he’s fab. Call me crazy, but going full send with something like this is also really appealing to me.

Is there a better month to prioritize self-care than January? I think not. This basket of goodies gave me the shoppies.
Scents
Diptyque always and forever. I have a few of their scents and recently purchased the eucalyptus candle as a gift after smelling it and being immediately transported to a cool California morning.
Skincare
Oak Essentials has my attention at the moment. The brand appeals to my light-on-toxicity, heavy-on-efficacy sensibilities. I just grabbed this serum. I read “filler-like effect” and was sold. I also got this mask for a fun, hydrating moment a couple of times a week. I’ve heard great things and will report back.
