marketplace finds and a pizza party
I was fortunate enough to have today off, so sending this recap on what feels like Sunday. We planned to go to Highlands, NC this weekend, but decided to enjoy a slow weekend at home instead and naturally focused on some projects I’ve been wanting to do around the house.
Top of my list is a bedroom refresh. Since moving into our current home, we haven’t given our bedroom much attention. I dusted off my dormant Facebook Marketplace obsession and got to scrolling. I really wanted to find some large rectangular mirrors to hang on the wall above our nightstands (also a fab marketplace score). I ended up finding a pair for $65, which frankly feels free. A mirror above the nightstands always feels very grounding to me, and I especially like the effect they have when the bed is on the wall you see when walking into a room, it’s nice and expansive. I’m really happy with how they turned out!
The marketplace exchange took place in a small town outside of the city early on Saturday, and it was fun to wake up and get out of town. We stopped in an antique mall on the way home and found some more goodies.
We took home the above and two more pieces of art. What’s wild about these finds is that I wrote about old home design books and paisley patterns in my most recent Collage Shop post (posted last week), and then found almost identical items. Manifestation much? The interest in paisley started with a vintage Ralph Lauren skirt I tried on in upstate NY last spring and has only grown since. Now that we have the mirrors, my focus is on bedding, and I think this fabric ($10) will make a gorg bolster pillow. I ordered this duvet cover and sheet set - all 40% right now! I had an extra set of pillowcases embroidered, which is fun.
On the apparel and accessories front, I found these Prada cuties and…left them behind. I might go check to see if they’re there later this week. The stitching, the buckle, they’re really great. But in all my secondhand shopping, I have really learned restraint, and sometimes if something isn’t screaming at your soul, you just leave it behind and see if it comes back around.
I’m loving this pinky ring. It’s just a fun little impulsive TikTok shop buy, but it’s also 100% proof of concept, and now I want a real diamond one.
I popped into a new store in Miami Circle called The Nicholson Gallery that I had never been into with a friend and really enjoyed it. The merchandising was great, and the space was very inviting.

I got my haircut, which I really do not do enough. I went for a bit more layering and movement than usual, and I really like it.
I wore a new and very special fur coat to my hair appointment. I initially found this jacket at a thrift store around the holidays. I LOVED it, it’s in perfect condition, and the volunteer who donated it told me it was his wife’s push present. It was such a sweet story. It was priced great for a fur, but still more than I wanted to spend, and I ended up not getting it. Chris pulled an iconic move and went and got it for me the next day as an anniversary present. I was so surprised and absolutely lost it when it told me he got it half off. Full story here:
Top meals of the week included a weeknight bite at Mali Thai, a go-to.
And a Saturday pizza party at Glide, which will never ever be a bad idea. When I had Bottege Bene, we shared a space with Glide. I’ve eaten a lot of Glide pizza,
and believe me when I tell you it always hits. The new space in Decatur is a perfect modern take on the nostalgic pizza parlor, and they have a photo booth. Team Glide forever.

This bag is my favorite right now, it’s a great size for carrying a laptop, and the simple design is so 90s to me. Last but never least - still going strong with my daily morning bone broth.
The 2016 posts flooded our feeds last week, and as I posted my memories of that year, I reflected on the risks I took for myself and the ways I chose to pursue a life that’s authentic to me. It wasn’t lost on me that that exact ideal is under attack in our country right now. Sharing the good as my personal protest this week and sending love to you all.
